The use of drones in the Belgian airspace is legislated by the royal decree of April 10th, 2016. According to the use made of it, we distinguish two types : the one for entertainment and the one for commercial use.

We speak about drone for recreational use when :

• the drone weights less than 1 kg
• maximum flight altitude is 10 m
• flights only above private property or model flying

In the other cases, we will speak about a drone for professional use. It implies inter alia that :

• the pilot should have a certificate or a licence,
• the drone will have to be recorded and insured
